should humans make their own decisions in life?

going through life is a series of choices you made that got you to this very moment, we might deeply regret some bad decisions we made that lead to consequence that hurt you or others, dose that mean our choices should be controlled? would that solve anything? I have my doubts about this theory. limiting or completely discarding our ability to make our own choices, will do no good for society, some argue that "Humans are flawed and irrational and the decisions they make hurt themselves and or others" and to them i say, consequence's that come from our mistakes make us stronger (and even if we can temporarily suppress the consequences of our actions it will always be back) and we learn from them and evolve as a society, as for arguments stating that "some mistakes do not provide a lesson at the end" you most certainly did not look further into the events.
making our choices is our free will and our right, and we will NOT stand for our right to be taken away. The question of free will touches on almost everything we care about, morality, law, politics, sexuality, identity, religion and feelings of guilt personal accomplishment. our free will which is basically our ability to make our own choices in life, it is our identifier, it is what makes an individual themselves, and although society fears individuality and is threatened by the concept of someone sticking out in anyway amongst others, and society wishes to construct us humans into being exactly the same like the teeth on a hair brush, by silencing our voices and limiting or freedom to make our own choices to what they see fit.
And if we all agree to give up our freedom of choice and attend to society's wishes, then we will not grow or evolve we will be stuck in the position we are currently in, the reason being and I will explain it with utter simplicity, without our right to make our own choices for ourselves, there will be no more room for individuality, and without individuality there will be no more demand for change and therefor society will cease to continue evolving.
We are society, but as individuals we are all against society in some way.
